Employee story: Ronald Munodawafa – Quality and Support Manager

Posted by

Our HyperionDev employees prioritise student support. It’s what makes our students thrive. And when it comes to the bootcamps we offer, we always make sure they’re high quality. We’ve promised to provide accessible learning opportunities that equip our students with the skills they need to enter the working world and shine.

At HyperionDev, we know that support ensures student progress, and it’s the quality that nurtures their success. Ronald Munodawafa is our Quality and Support Manager, and he’s done a spectacular job in keeping our bootcamps first-rate and our students supported throughout their learning process. With a background in computer science, Ronald knows what students need when it comes to learning tech skills. Here’s a little more about this HyperionDev employee who ensures HyperionDev stays true to all the promises we make.

What do you enjoy most about working with HyperionDev?

I appreciate the company’s culture. It values efficiency, commitment, and responsiveness to change. Many individuals and organisations are averse to change. It’s different as a HyperionDev employee; we see change as an opportunity to grow.

What’s the heart and soul of your role?

I’m the Quality and Support Manager. I ensure our product offerings run smoothly at their core so that we deliver on all our promises. Our team takes pride in the quality and effort that goes into the personalised support we provide to our students and our clients.

What motivates you to come in or log in every morning?

I’m motivated by a challenge, and I live for the “difficult problems.” When I discover a major issue that needs to be resolved, I really shine. People have placed their trust in us, and their future depends on our work. Because of this, I’m committed to making sure our students start and end their journey with us in the best possible way.

Tell us a bit about your professional development whilst working with HyperionDev.

I come from a computer science background. Despite my exposure to business courses, I only had a hazy idea of how businesses could run efficiently. But at HyperionDev, I learned what simplicity and innovation mean in the face of difficult challenges.

Which of the 4 P’s (Purpose First, Progress Always, Problem Solving, People First) resonates with you most and why?

‘Progress Always.’ Never settle for 100% – because that’s actually 70%. If you reach 100%, go back to the drawing board, find what you’ve ignored, and improve it. And always move forward because being at the top is only temporary.

How is HyperionDev different from other places you’ve worked?

Everyone on the team is here because they love what they do. HyperionDev employees share a combination of cohesion, focus, and prioritisation – rare qualities to see in a team. It’s because of this that they’re always exceeding expectations.

What makes you feel PROUD to work for HyperionDev?

Being Quality and Support Manager means that I’m part of the Education Division. They’re a highly intelligent and hard-working team. Pretty much everyone I’ve worked with at the company does their best to ensure the team wins at the end of the day.

What’s a fond memory you have of working at the company?

Everyone gets imposter syndrome. It means they don’t pursue opportunities where they could learn and deliver. A couple of times, some of our graduates came across technologies they were unfamiliar with and froze. But after brief, reflective discussions with them, they pulled up their socks and rose to the occasion. It didn’t matter where they started. They realised that they had it in them to excel in whatever space they were in and could learn anything if they really wanted to.

Is there anything else about your journey at HyperionDev you’d like to share with us?

Being a HyperionDev employee has made me a well-rounded and competent professional. Rather than narrowing down as a specialist, I’ve developed a more holistic view of my role. Not just at HyperionDev, but in the tech education industry overall.
